| weeks of 6/20-7/8/2000 date: time: location: silent time word: lift intro sentence: I am learning that greatest joys come from .... jewel box: opening summer season's message notes: The Summer Solstice on June 21 marks the beginning of summer and peaks at Lammas on August 1, which marks the beginning of the harvest season. The Earth is bountiful and giving during the hot summer months and it is a time for us to experience the joy of giving and receiving. As mothers, we can use summers metaphor of heat and movement to enrich our creative perspective on life. The sun thrusts. We are aware of the length of the day and nights seem to glow. Windows are open. We hear, smell, taste and live in our expanded environmentat the parks, beach, pools or summer getaways. Even our homes grow larger as we enter our yards and porches, planting, decorating, dining and entertaining. Traditionally the Summer Solstice was a time to dance and celebrate the beginning of summer. Let us dance by freeing our creativity, understanding that the very act of movement feeds our creative spirit. The creative cycle requires this kind of playfulness occasionally to experience all that life has to offer. When we enter another phase in our creative development we will remember summer internally there is much growing and much to be harvested later. Be conscious of the movement of your creative spirit. Play as you move forward. Celebrate this important season, mothers, and do your dance through the intensity of the summer sun! Live your creativity!
