The north wind renews the mind. We are alert as we sleep in the darkness of winter. Recalling our internal self. Without. Within. White. Cold. Bare. Are we feeling the energy that the new year, the new millennium, promised? What comes to life, brewing inside of our bodies, our minds? Believe in the power of winter. Powerful winter.
The winter solstice, on December 21, initiates the winter season. The season stays with us until March 21, the Spring Equinox, when the days will start getting longer. The long months of winter. Most of us can’t step out the front door without the worry of frost bite. Warming little fingers and creatively keeping our children’s hands and minds busy. Adapting to the darkness. Reinventing light and making the dark evenings alive. Light. Light.
Winter hibernates within our soul. We look forward to spring as a time for new beginnings and rebirth, but Winter is a time that cannot be rushed. Not only do we reflect on the seasons past but we
envision our world and what we want to make of it. We are given this precious time to think, to make and to experience our world in patience. Still and quiet.
