notes:

Chalices go back to ancient prehistoric time as a symbol of worth and femininity. Creating your own chalices will be a symbol of your bond with the circle and an inviting cup to be shared with someone special. Fill your chalices with openness, magic, sensitivity, pleasure, heart, joy, friendship, calmness, togetherness, tenderness, faithfulness and song.

Some loose Instructions:
(Let your imagination guide you!)

The circle will first collaborate and design a common symbol for all of the chalices to share — a symbol that reflects the bond of the circle (a mother i flower, a spiral or an ancient Celtic sign are a few ideas). Once the circle has agreed on a symbol, each member goes to work transforming her glasses — making them uniquely individual, while incorporating the common bonding symbol.

Below are some material suggestions that will hold to glass. If you use glass paint be sure to save enough time at the end of your meeting for "cooking" your glasses (check instructions for time and heat settings).

A meeting place suggestion: Meet at a "paint your plate" type of place and create ceramic chalices!

Don't forget to bring your glasses to your mother i family gathering!

junk box materials:
two drinking containers (wine glasses, coffee mugs, goblets…anything you enjoy drinking from!)
glass paint (found at any craft or art supply store)
paint markers
nail polish
wire and beads (for stems)
super glue and found objects (in case you want to get funky!)
an oven (if you're using certain kinds of glass paint)
music (for the circle's pleasure!)
camera — please send us a photo and we’ll post it in the gallery!
