weeks of 8/6-8/19/2001 date: time: location: silent time word: ground intro sentence: I "sense" mostly with my… stepping stones/synchronicities (refer to circle elements) jewel box: revisiting exercise — soap stones closing: set personal goals for the next two weeks/silent time notes: Aromatherapy is becoming widely recognized for its calming effects on a woman's mind, body and spirit. The revisiting exercise invites the circle to share their favorite "aromas" in the form of soap — to create containers of individual soaps that each member can enjoy at home. Some basic instructions: Each member brings a bar or two of their favorite scented soap. With a sharp knife and a solid cutting board the soaps are cut into chunks. Next, tie a piece of raffia, ribbon or wire around each piece and then attach labels or tags — identifying the scent, your name and any other message or drawing you'd like to include. Make a couple for each member and yourself. When everyone has completed and shared their soap stones, gather your gifts into a container such as a large jar and if enough time, decorate your container. Here is your junk box list! two or more bars of soap (look in the health food department of your local grocery store for unique varieties) sharp knife (a couple of large butcher knives can be shared) cutting boards (share) ribbon, raffia, embroidery thread or wires (try adding a few beads!) tissue paper (optional)  paper for tags/labels (watercolor paper, paper from a brown bag, cut up recycled cards are some ideas) pens or markers (those sparkly Jelly brands are great!) container (mason jar, cigar box, a vase!) sculpting tools (for the adventurous!) large jar with lid or other container for displaying soaps music camera Don't forget to take photos and send them to be posted in the mother i gallery! go or mail to: Hartung Kemp, attn: motheri, 1011 Washington Ave. S., Suite 360, Minneapolis, MN 55415. |
