| The responses from women have been heartfelt and have affirmed our belief that sister i is a much needed community for women. Read what women from all corners of the world are saying about sister i: "First of all I wanted to tell you I LOVE your site!! Staying creative throughout life is such an important thing, mentally and spiritually. It is so easy to get busy with "life itself" and not TAKE the time for "This will be my very first real step to bring out the real me, the free spirit that I once was, had nearly vanished, but NOW wants to WAKE UP. "I can't tell you how stimulated I am by the discovery of this wonderful site. I have a few women lined up already. Creative juices are flowing! And what a wonderful time to start something new.........Spring! I cannot wait. I cannot believe that I had to "happen" across your website....this is so big (especially for me!). Thanks for all the creativity and thought. KIm Schetters. (California)" "I am a woman, me, myself, above all....SO WHERE AM "I"?..WHAT happened to the ME I was aware of once? my sister-hood of 5 friends is my conduit to that heart of me that is easy to lose in in all the roles I have been called upon to play as a woman. I have a chance to dig inside beneath mother-me, wife-me, domestic -me, provider-me every two weeks when I get together with my group of "sisters". There are 6 of us---who come together with a common and truly mad-desire to "be". Our time together is so intimate and so revealing of ourselves that we share tears and joy and laughter everytime we get together. I believe each one of us would have unique reasons for a common and overwhelmingly powerful feeling: the power that comes from our special friendship/sisterhood-- is enabling us to thrive as individuals-artists-people while called upon to be mothers and every other role of necessity.... We are INTERESTING because we are "I am so fortunate to have a group of girlfriends that inspire each other in the ways we uniquely express and work toward our creative goals. Three years ago, I was half-way through my pregnancy when I realized how important it would be for me to retain my sense of self and develop my creativity while helping to create a new family. My goal at the time was simple, to make time for myself to nurture my creativity. Through the support and encouragement of these women friends on a similar path, I've since become much more confident with my creativity. I've even developed a business doing hands-on creative workshops for personal and professional reflection, goal-setting and action. I truly love this work and feel that my drive and confidence has been spurred by the sharing and inspiration in our group. We've laughed, cried and been purely amazed with each other as we've shared our deepest fears and triumphs in our creative journeys. It's so wonderful to be in a group of women in which we have the opportunity to speak openly, and honestly with spirit and true care. Teresa (Minneapolis, MN) "thanks for all of the time and energy you put into this website. it was such a blessing for me to find it." "Wow, I've been surfing in the wrong places. This site is wonderful brilliant.I have been searching since april on the creative sites it is the first time I've come across this website.I write poetry, paint watercolours, keep a diary and have an obssession that creativity is so healing.Thank you for such inspiration I like the way it is linked to motherhood too.I have three daughters and we have always shared our creativity.Thank you thank you..can I come back love from cheri (England)" "I think the sisteri name shift has fully entered my spirit tonight. My little boy has just turned 5 years old and although I know I'm still very much his mom, I am sensing a personal identity shift as my baby is gone, (sort of) and this powerful young being has a life of his own. This site has always reminded me of my beloved sister who is far across the continent. Participating with reflective naturing nurturing activities helps me to feel closer to the spirit that unites me with her as well as in gracefully accepting a role which is... other than mother. Thank "I love the idea of sister i circles! As a mother of two grown sons living a couple thousand miles from them, sometimes I yearn to connect with other others -- and other times not quite so much. But the supportiveness of the female - mother or no - is something wonderful to be celebrated, upheld, and treasured." "All the stuff for winter seems splendid...I especially liked the memorials and exploring our brave hearts...a part of my thirst for world travel has been to see the grand memorials of the world and I have been blessed to see many of them (the pyramids and Macchu Piccu being a couple of my favorite ones). Great stuff and way to go!!! Carol (MInnesota) "I am thinking a lot about sister i circles for young girls. wow, what a |
